Ribbon Synapses Symposium 2011
September 19-21, 2011, Göttingen
Ribbon synapses of sensory cells in the inner ear and the retina are specialized in reliably transmitting sensory information over prolonged periods of time.
Recent work has achieved major progress in understanding ribbon synapse molecular anatomy and physiology. Moreover, ribbon synapse function has been explored at the sensory systems level and by computational approaches.
The meeting brings together experts in the field for discussing new data and providing a current overview on the processing of sensory information at ribbon synapses.
The organizers encourage participation of young scientists who might contribute by a poster or short talk (a limited number of slots are available!).
Further information and registration on the symposium's website.
Organizers:
Henrique von Gersdorff (Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, USA)
