Learning and cortical plasticity in the visual system: Understanding cortical learning mechanisms and their restoration after stroke

Learning is generally impaired in patients with stroke, also in remote brain areas that are not affected directly by the stroke. Apparently, there is a mechanism modulating learning globally in the brain. The project “Learning and cortical plasticity in the visual system: Understanding cortical learning mechanisms and their restoration after stroke” aims at finding these mechanisms from cellular to systems level and at assessing the potential of therapeutic interventions.
